Travel grants
Zaharoff Fund Travel Grants
Applications are invited from graduate students working for Oxford postgraduate degrees and diplomas to assist with the cost of travel in connection with French studies. Grants when awarded are not normally of a value of more than £250 each and support work in such fields as French art, archaeology, history, literature, and sociology. The fact that the study proposed is to be in France will not in itself qualify it as a branch of French studies. Account may be taken of any other possible sources of financial support available to applicants.
To apply for a travel grant please complete an application form which can be downloaded from the link below and send by post or email to Prizes and Awards, Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, 41 Wellington Square, Oxford, prizesandawards@mod-langs.ox.ac.uk. The Graduate Studies Committee of the Faculty Board refers graduate students under the Modern Languages Board to the arrangements for graduate travel grants.

Fiedler Memorial Fund Travel Grant
The Modern Languages Board, on behalf of the Curators of the Taylor Institution, have set aside a non-recurrent allocation from the Fiedler Memorial Fund for the purpose of making small travel grants for research students (both for students who are not eligible for grants from other funds available to the Modern Languages Board, and for students who apply to such funds after these become exhausted for the year).
The Fiedler Memorial Fund exists for the promotion of the advanced study of Modern European Languages and Literatures among members of the University of Oxford, and the costs of publication of the results of their researches, special consideration being given to German. Any grants made from the sums now set aside would have to come within these terms.
The Modern Languages Board will not make grants towards the costs of attendance at languages courses, and the fact that an application has chosen to study in one of the countries concerned will not in itself qualify his or her work for support from the fund.
Those eligible to apply are students for Oxford postgraduate degrees and diplomas (in respect of travel for work for the Oxford degree or diploma concerned). The Modern Languages Board may take into account any other possible sources of financial support available to applicants.
To apply please complete an application form available from the link below.
Please return the form by post or email to Prizes & Awards (prizesandawards@mod-langs.ox.ac.uk), Modern Languages Faculty, 41 Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JF.

It should also be noted that grants will not be made towards the cost of attendance at language courses, and that the fact that an application is for study in one of the countries concerned will not in itself qualify it for support from the fund.
Those eligible to apply under the terms of this notice are students for Oxford postgraduate degrees and diplomas (other than graduate students under the Board of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages). Account may be taken of any other possible sources of financial support available to applicants.
